Campaigns cost money, so Treasurers have a key role to play in ensuring every CLP has the funds they need to run effective, well resourced campaigns. A Treasurer needs an eye for detail and a head for figures as well as a great understanding of the rules and regulations of party funding.
It’s a lot of responsibility, but hugely rewarding too as Treasurers are vital to running a successful campaign. I work closely with the other Officers of the CLP to plan and monitor the budget.
If there is anything at all that you want to know about your local party your first port of call will be your CLP Secretary. Even if I don’t know the answer, I will definitely be able to point you in the right direction!
CLP Secretaries are the pro-active and dynamic figureheads of the constituency who ensure an outward-looking and vibrant local Labour Party…and that is us!
