As a carer for elderly people you go through continually changing circumstances as many people have because of the pandemic situation. A sudden deterioration in health can affect not only the person concerned , but also the whole caring routine. After a lengthy education in the construction industry, I spent many years as a carer. This has given me an insight into the carers’ commitments and where specific responsibilities exist regarding health services and how to access them.
Voluntary counselling for the Alzheimers Society together with time as a school governor revealed to me the effects of local democracy on the provision of many services.
I would welcome the opportunity to serve this community with my acquired experience and knowledge.
