I’ve lived in Bucks most of my life and went to school in Aylesbury. I’ve been a member for around 7-8 years. I attended both the Women's and Annual Conferences last year which was a fantastic experience. I live in Dagnall where I’ve been active in the community as a Parish Councillor for 10 years. I stood for the Unitary Council in 2021, and whilst didn’t manage to beat the 3 conservative candidates came a close 4th, along with the largest Labour swing (26%) in the county, getting 32% of the votes. I also run the local Village Hall for which I have fundraised and project managed several significant projects, including refurbishment of and installation of new toilets to provide disabled facilities, getting new playground equipment on the village Rec, created a tarmacked carpark and most recently a new roof for the village hall. I’m event director at parkrun at Dunstable Downs parkrun, where I have been instrumental in getting volunteers involved, helping to build a great core team. I’ve also set up many community runs fundraising for the local community I guess you can say I’m a doer! As women’s officer I’d like to encourage women to get actively involved in the local party and find out what we need to do to help them do that. What local issues matter to women? What could we do to help empower them to improve things? How can we make sure our voices are heard?
