I stand behind the Labour Party policy as the only sensible solution to Brexit at this time. Liz Hind, Parliamentary Candidate for Aylesbury

As a small business owner, I have been increasingly concerned about Brexit. The Tory party has failed to negotiate a decent deal and it has failed on all its own red lines and targets. My business would quite possibly not survive. I am also indebted to all the EU citizens that have moved here, taken up jobs and started businesses that contribute to our economy. Their rights and lives must be protected.
Brexit threatens our consumer protections, workers rights, environmental protections and trade. Yet there was a referendum in which millions of people wanted to leave the EU. We are much better informed now of the consequences, and I have spoken to many people who have changed their minds, but we cannot just cancel leaving the EU.
We must agree a solution to the problem.
I stand behind the Labour Party policy as the only sensible solution at this time.
We must negotiate a deal that does the best we can to secure jobs, workers rights and environmental protections and then we must put this deal to the public in a confirmatory referendum.
The reality of the last three and a half wasted years is that the Tories have not only failed to deliver Brexit, they have failed to negotiate a decent deal for the UK. Their Brexit threatens our consumer protections, workers’ rights, environmental protections and trade. It puts a price tag on our NHS and could see £500 million a week taken out of the NHS and handed to big drugs companies under Johnson’s plans for a sell-out trade deal with Donald Trump.
For those who still want to leave the EU without trashing our economy or selling out our NHS, you’ll be able to vote for it. If you want to remain in the EU as I do, you’ll be able to vote for that. Either way, only a Labour government will put the final decision in your hands. And that Labour government will immediately carry out your decision so Britain can finally get beyond Brexit.
